Moko Jumbie. This project is a multidimensional collaboration with the Brooklyn Jumbies, a stilt-walking group completely operated by volunteers. Its focus is to provide--free of charge-healthy extracurricular activities to youth, as well as to revive the art and tradition of West- African stilt-walking. The goals are achieved through artistic interventions, such as thematic development and costuming for street performances and presentations. The project began in 2001 in Cocorite, Trinidad and Tobago, with Dragon Keylemanjahro School of Arts and Culture.
Moko Jumbies. Este proyecto es una colaboración multidimensional con los Brooklyn Jumbies, un grupo de zanqueros integrado exclusivamente por voluntarios. El enfoque del proyecto es el de ofrecer –sin costo alguno- actividades extracurriculares sanas, así como revivir el arte y la tradición de la danza en zancos originaria del Oeste de África. Las metas son alcanzadas a través de intervenciones artísticas que incluyen desarrollo temático y de vestuario para presentaciones en público. El proyecto comenzó en 2001 en Cocorite, Trinidad y Tobago con la Dragon Keylemanjahro School of Arts and Culture.
